Flixton Juniors are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Kevin McKiernan.
He was a faithful servant to the Club for more than thirty years and will always be a Club Legend.
He started as a manager in the eighties and then took an active role in the management of the Club looking after kit orders, managing the pitches, and probably lots of other things that may have been long forgotten but still part of what has made the Club the great Club it is today.
Here is Kevin receiving his 25 year service award from the FA in 2019.
The lockdowns prevented Kevin from his great love of preparing our pitches for our Football Festival, and I know that even though our Festival is named after Ron Massey, it will become one of the many ways we will remember him.
He will be sorely missed.
